Day 38 - Hong Kong to Chiang Mai THAILAND

Today we got up early again and headed for the train station where we caught the airport express to the airport. We stored our luggage and then caught a taxi to Ngong Ping where we could go on the 360o cable car up the mountain to a small village and Buddha statue. The cable car ride was 5.7km and took 25mins, this was a great way to spend a few hours while we waited for our plane. Mum and I had some silly photos taken and I tried sitting in the lotus position like the Buddha. We arrived at the airport and checked in, while we waited at the gate lounge I spotted our plane out the window and got really excited because our plane had a giant dragon painted on the side!!! But unfortunately Mum said that was Dragon Air not Sri Lankan Air which we would be catching. I was really upset. However our flight was pleasant it only took us 2½ hrs to reach Bangkok where we changed planes heading towards Chiang Mai in northern Thailand.
