Well my first week here in Hong Kong has flown by and will soon be on the plane heading for New Zealand via a stopover in Sydney.
I had a crazy couple of days at Disney on Lantau Island and had to turn into a kid again and have my picture taken with good old Winnie! I also got to stay in the Disneyland Hotel. All I can say is nobody does it like Disney. My room was amazing and all the little extras in the room, make you realise why they really can say ' When you wish upon a star, your dream will come true.' My first ride of the day was Its A Small World, I did this on purpose for my sister (its a running joke in my family, as my sister made us all suffer it too many times in Florida when we were younger) and I must have over the two days made it onto every ride and show at least 3 times.
I've been to some more rather large shopping malls here, one of which I got so lost in after 30 minutes of trying to find a shop or somewhere I recognised, I decided the best option was to go and find a drink (and I'm not talking Starbucks coffee)!
The only disasters this week was the mobile phone breaking, but sanity was restored the next day when I managed to get this sorted out and the other disaster was having to wait an hour to get a taxi - I won't go into that one, but I was not amused!
Hong Kong hasn't turned out to be one of my favourite places, it reminds me a lot of London and certain people know how much I LOVE London. I don't think I'd rush back here for a holiday, but I'm glad I came and looked around. Maybe Singapore or Malaysia would have been a better option! I'm looking forward to New Zealand, just dont mention the little matter of having to start work again and it seems a lot more exciting!
